When the message is clear to you…
You have explained the expectation. Discussed it in briefing. Put it in the improvement plan. Yet what happens across the school still varies.
CLARITY gives you time to examine the gap between what leaders intend and what people understand, do and sustain.
Explore what “consistent”, “high expectations” and “follow up” actually look like in your context. Make the expectation visible enough for colleagues to act on it.
Connect a leadership priority to the routines, conversations and responsibilities that turn it into day-to-day practice.
Consider what evidence would show that the expectation is understood and being used. Plan a useful check without creating another layer of unnecessary work.
The 90-minute experience
Work with one issue from your own school: inconsistent attendance follow-up, a routine that varies between teams, or an improvement priority that has lost its meaning.
Friday 29 January 2027, 5–6:30pm GMT (UK).
Identify where language, assumptions or unclear ownership are getting in the way.
Translate one expectation into observable practice, using examples from school leadership.
Apply the thinking to your challenge and define a manageable first step.
Clarify responsibility, the evidence you will look for and when you will check progress.

What does the expectation look like when someone actually does it?
That is the question at the heart of this masterclass. You will apply it to an issue that matters in your school.
